OK, I've got to make this quick tonight since I've got a whole of lot of prep work left to do and the Full Monty Fantasy Baseball League Draft is this weekend! But who cares about baseball when we've got us a good old-fashioned down-to-the-wire four-team race for the Slap Shot league title with just two weeks left to play? Yes folks, in what is by far the closest finish we've ever had in this league, and let me tell you we've had some real close ones in the past, we've got two teams tied for first, one a half point back, and a fourth team just a single point out of first! The breakdown:

Stick It Up Your Ice, 52 ˝ points
Between Periods, 52 ˝ points
Foil Up Coach, 52 points
Fargain Hansons, 51 ˝ points

If Foil Up Walt wins it'll be his 3rd title. Fargain Boghosian's also looking for his third Slap Shot Cup. The Commish & Kevin hope to Stick It Up as their 2nd crown and Between Brian Legere is gunning for his first ever hockey title. Not to be outdone, the battle for 5th place is just a half point of separation too as The Phantoms and Korea Kang duke it out in the final weeks. And don't look now, but quietly creeping up the standings is Don Cardoza's Pardon My Misconduct, who on the back of some fine goaltending have managed to climb out of the cellar and have now pulled to within just a hat trick (3 points) of the final money spot, which has become a three-way race of it's own as Don, Neil and Chuck & Joe wrangle over the last chance to make some money back! Fab's Bada Byngs seem to have the next-to-last spot clinched as Rob's Five Minutes For Fire Sale has left him in sole (or is that soul?) possession of the league's basement apartment.

Once again my apologies for the major stats screw up last week. I've learned my lesson though. No more deleting of e-mail by using the mouse and the SHIFT key for a group delete!

So sit back and enjoy the rest of the season and the exciting races, the captain has turned off the fasten seat belt signs so feel free to move about the cabin… 'til next week…
